Magnus 29th December
Christmas was very good.  I opened my presents myself.  Got a very large new toy and another posh collar.  Very smart.  Ate lots of lovely stuff and dozed on the couch.  Ewen has cut back on my Tramadol.  I was feeling very odd and stared a lot into space.  I have full access to the couch and the bed.  This is rather annoying her ladyship.  Tough!!  Gave her a really good chasing today, up the golf course.  Felt in fine fettle.

I am trying to be nice but it can prove tricky.  He chased me all around the first fairway today.  VERY unexpected.  Had to watch he didn't get my tail.
My new collar is beautiful.  It's very pink and girly.  Magnus's is much more boyish.  He suits it but Pam says I look really good in mine.
Magnus is getting the run of the bed and the couch just now.  It's fine because that gives me total control of the studio couch and the furry downies.  Great.  And, if he gets a treat, I get to have one too.  It's win win really.

Magnus 24th December

I have to go back to the vet in 2weeks for more x-rays.  The Dick Veterinary College is not convinced. Maybe I have what Pam has.  Roomy arthuritis or something. I can relax over Christmas.  Ewen is coming with me next time I have x-rays.  Colin said it took several attempts to get me calm for the x-rays.  Then I needed my own room because I was making so much noise.  I just do not like the vet place.  Anyway, there seems to be a lot of venison and ham and pate going round at the moment.

Our friend Lexi has been working at Miss World in London, chaperoning young ladies.  Who needs Miss World when she can have me.

Big Boy is quite quiet.  Must be the Tramadol.  Good things are being smelled.  Venison. Yummy.

WE WISH YOU ALL A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND MAY YOUR GOD GO WITH YOU.

December 16th Mirren

Big Boy is not well.  He has a limp and a sore shoulder.  He's been to see Colin without me.  Pam and Ewen are in tears.  I have to be very nice and very gentle with him.  There is nothing else I can say.  He is just 5 years and 3 months old.

Magnus

I have to be brave.  I have osteosarcoma.  My shoulder hurts.  I have lots of stuff to take, in ham.  Pam and Ewen have told me they are going to spoil me and we are going to visit all the places I love.  I feel very sad.  I have a very happy life and I get upset seeing them so heartsore.

Magnus 11th December

Pam thinks I am a genius.  I have found a new way of letting the humans know what I want.  I head butt and push them until they get where I want them.  Pam was wrapping presents and I needed her to listen to me.  So I did the usual. Swiped her with a paw.  Having got her attention, I wandered towards the kitchen and the back door.  She thought I wanted out.  I got behind her and butted her with my head so she went in the direction I wanted her to go.......... the fridge.  She called Ewen, so I had to push and bump him until he got in front of the fridge.
Bingo.  I got chicken.

Magnus 9th December.

Snow. Snow. Snow.  Yipee.  Snow's back.   I love it.  Makes my hair all tingly and standy up.  It feels right when I am in the snow.  Just love it.  Mirren quite likes it as well but she's a bit more careful.
She was a lot nicer in the snow than she was at the beach.  She really was "The Bitch on the Beach" the other day.  Ewen let her off the lead for the first time in ages and she was just horrible to me.  She kept giving me verbal grief and then she'd snap at me.  She can't be in season again already, so she doesn't have that excuse.
Anyway, back to the snow.  Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat stuff.

Mirren 9th December

I guess I was a bit nasty the other day.  It was just lovely to be off the lead, even if just for a wee while. Big Boy has got too used to being his own boss when we are out.  I just had to re-establish my authority on things.
Snow's okay.  Personally, I find it a bit chilly on the paws.  We were passing The Grey Mare's Tail and we were let out for a run.  Pam stayed in the car.  Too nippy for her.  Snow is alright if you are running at speed, but when you are trotting along it is inclined to get stuck in between the pads of my paws.  I do prefer the comfort of a warm and furry couch these days.  I have rather got stuck in the couch potato mode.  I think I'd better get back to the gym if Big Boy is to be kept in line.
