Magnus Wednesday 28th December

Well that was Christmas.  I opened all my presents myself.

Pam and Ewen were INCREDIBLY proud of me.  It's actually great fun, once you get the hang of it.  You need to use paws and teeth and shaking.  I got squeaky toys, homemade gluten free cheese bones and shortbread.

I also got a Christmas jumper/coat!  Not so sure about that but it keeps me warm when I'm out so no real complaints.
Foods been good and I get myself in and out of the new car.  Feeling chuffed. Her Ladyship has stopped all the yowling which is a HUGE bonus.  Long walks in places we haven't been for a while.  Fantastic.  New Year next.

Mirren Wednesday 28th December

We had a lovely, family Christmas.  We had people in for Christmas breakfast which meant Magnus and I got some scrambled eggs and salmon.  Then we had a big walk and then we had people in for dinner at night, which meant Magnus and I got some steak.  Auntie Lexi brought some steak up in morning too.  All round good food.
I don't do present opening.  It is far too vigorous a pastime for a ladylike dog.  All that tossing the parcel up in the air and shaking it.  Not for me.  I did like the presents though, particularly my new, red, Christmas jumper with Bambis on it it.  A spot-on choice for a Deerhound of my colouring.  The red contrasts well with my hair.

The new car is proving a bonus.  I elegantly glide in and out.  Big Boy sometimes needs a wee lift because his big paws slip.
New Year next.  MMMMM.  That generally means a lot of people getting very loud.

Big paws up to our pal Kohl.  His owners, Craig and Carol, had a wee girl on Christmas Eve.  Apart from the occasional whimpers, Kohl says she's great and he can see the chance of some extra food getting thrown his way.  Congratulations to you all.

By the way, always look after your teeth.  A chew on a suitably sized stick works wonders, and you can share!

Magnus 20th December

Ewen has been browsing his pics and found these pictures.  One from a few weeks ago, of us in the corn field and ones of us when we were young.

I HAD to wear those "Doggles" as they are called because I had all these funny rashes and it was to see if I was allergic to stuff.  They are worn by army dogs to protect their eyes from sun and sand.  I felt quite "Big Dog" in them.

Mirren 20th December

Just managed to stop rolling around the floor, paws in the air, laughing hysterically.  Big Boy feeling butch in a pair of dog goggles.  What were they thinking?  He could have resisted if he'd wanted too.  I don't mind an expensive pair of glasses, but these!!!!  Haha hohohohohoho heheheheheheheehe.

She's got a cheek.  Look at "The Princess" in her necklace. 12 weeks old and already showing off.  What is that about?  Pam and Ewen created a monster when they did that.  Her with her airs and graces.

I look GORGEOUS. Enough said.  (still laughing)

Magnus 18th December

This time next week it'll be Christmas.  Pam's been getting all excited, as usual.  Tree, lights, shopping etc.  I enjoy all the goodies and like all the bits and pieces that go with it.  Been dozing with my nose towards some interesting parcels.  Something smells good.
But the important news is that we have a new car.  Well it's a van actually.  It's bright red, apparently.  Ewen has kitted the back out with carpet and downies so we are really comfy.  I'm getting used to it, although I will admit a certain reluctance to get in it at first.  It's not as high up as our other dogmobile.  Once in it, it's fine.  We get to places to go walks so I'm totally with it but Ewen doesn't have to lift me in and out.  I can get in myself.  I rather miss the tummy scratches he gives me when he was lifting me in to the back of the other car.  Maybe this will remind him?  Bitch Face is giving them a hard time.  She makes the most awful noise and I have to cuddle down and cover my ears with my paws.  WOW! She's loud.

Mirren 18th December

Pam is getting excited.  The house and the tree look very nice.  She did it all when she came back from Jersey.  Ewen and then Pam went off to visit their niece at the beginning of December.  She has just had twins. I don't know what all the song and dance is about.  We have multiple puppies all the time.  Eight, nine puppies so what's so huge about two?
As to the new transport.... The last time Pam and Ewen put me in a different car, the journeys involved the Royal Dick Veterinary College.  I am not happy about being in this van yet.  I have let them know I am concerned by howling and yapping loudly.  So far this has worked and all we have done is go for walks.  However, I am not reassured yet, so I will be keeping up the noise levels for a while.  I need to be sure we're not going back to that place.  I don't mind Colin (sigh) but NOT THAT PLACE.  They put a metal plate in my leg.  Okay, I run better, but I am not Robodog.  But the worst was they wouldn't let me go home till I was better.
As to the colour of the van/car, how would he know.  He's showing off.  He overheard Pam say it was red.

We had very sad news in a Christmas card.  One of our friends died.  She passed away on November 14th.  Gloria was 20years old (might have been older).  She had been a great friend of Morgan, Mick and Monty.  Magnus knew her when he was a puppy.  She used to come to the house for holidays.  From being an abandoned stray found in Belfast garage forecourt, she landed on all four paws.  She was an amazing character and will be much missed.

Magnus 1st December

Not long till Christmas.  I like Christmas.  It generally means long walks, tasty food, long sleeps and lots of tit-bits.  What can anyone argue about?
Ewen has been away again, in jersey or jumper or something like that.  Can't understand why, he has lots of jerseys here.
Her ladyship has been a total drama queen this week.  She won't eat, she won't get up, she wants Pam to feed her little bits of food BY HAND.  When we are out for a walk she walks close by Pam or Ewen looking pathetic.  She is attention seeking.  I don't know.  She gets the best places on the couches.  She gets whatever she wants.  I don't remember having this amount of attention when I had my little op!  I probably did but I am a Big Boy and I just sucked it up and got on with it.

Mirren 1st December

How dare he!  I have a whole row of stitches and my tummy is shaved bare and it's been -7C.  I've been on painkillers and they make me feel funny and very sleepy.  The best thing to do is get somewhere comfy and sleep it off.  Okay Pam has been feeding me lovely bits of venison (I am a Deerhound) which I appreciate but my tummy was sore and I didn't like getting up.  Pam has also given me one of her jumpers.  I can't wear my High-viz coat just now in case the strap rubs my stitches,  The jumper is black and fluffy and I love it.  I can't run in case I hurt myself.  And I couldn't eat because my throat was sore.  Ewen thinks it might have been tubes during my operation.  So there!  And yes, Christmas is coming.
