Magnus 31st March/1st April

Well, this is all getting a bit ridiculous.  We had Spring a few days ago and now it's winter again.  More snowflakes .  I think I prefer just getting cuddled up on my furry bed and keeping warm.  My coat isn't as thick as it used to be since I wasn't well, and I feel the cold.  When it got a wee bit warmer we did have some really long walks.  I like revisiting walks and sniffing out who's been there.  Bitch face is making a big song and dance about tomorrow.  Should I tell her it's April Fool's Day??

Haha! Didn't go to Abbotsford.  We went to Mellerstain instead and had a lovely walk round the lake.  Bit scared of the swans but they left us alone so it was fine.

I'm so excited.  Abbotsford are having an open day tomorrow for pets to visit.  Pam says I really must go because I'm a Deerhound and Walter Scott LOVED his Deerhounds.  I'm getting brushed and beautified so I look my best.  People might want to take my picture.  Maybe I'll get my picture in the papers and be famous.  I'd give my pawtograph to people.  Ooooooo can't wait.  Hope it stays dry.  I don't want my hair to curl or matt.

It doesn't matter.  Pam said there was a children's Easter Egg Hunt at Abbotsford.  I didn't want involved in that!  Chocolate is bad for dogs.  I'm sure Big Boy would have got himself involved and made himself ill.  Anyway, Mellerstain was beautiful too and I felt totally at home.

Magnus 18th March

Well, just when we thought it was safe to go out, it snows again.  Last week we went for a long walk on Mother's Day and we were wandering in the snow drops.  This week they are covered with snow again.  Oh well, never mind.  Been feeling the cold so I've been lying on the couch near the fire and Pam has started combing me.  She has also been grooming Mirren when she gets cuddled down.  Mir seems to like it though.  One side of me is very brushed.  The other side....not so much.
Oh! Just remembered.  Happy St Patrick's Day, from an Irish Wolfhound.  Forgot to post yesterday.  I was too buy busy watching my chaps win the Six Nations at rugby!!

Pam was very pleased with her Mother's day card and gifts.  She does seem to be very fond of chocolate.  And she does seem to be on a grooming campaign for Big Boy and myself.  She should have a look at herself sometimes!
Anyway, it's been a tricky weekend.  Three Scots and an Irish in the one house.  Big Boy just doesn't let up when it's St Patrick's Day.  "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge met one of my family yesterday with the Irish Guards. The Irish won the rugby.  (the Scots did okay too) Don't the Irish celebrate well.  Isn't Irish dancing just amazing.  Aren't the Irish so musical."  I think I might slip him some ice cream and watch him go green!! Very Irish.  His lactose intolerance might be useful.
My beautiful friend has just turned one.  He is so handsome.  Pam says I'm too old for him and too old for twerking.  On second thoughts.... his name is Murphy!!!!!???? Do the Irish get everywhere?

 My Murphy...handsome chap isn't he.

Okay, we appear to be snow bound....since Wednesday!  Must be a few feet out there.  Past my tummy anyway.  After a good walk I am a tad tired.  All that leaping about in the snow at my age.  Just to make it worse P and E think it essential to wash our paws in case we have salt or grit on them.  Not my favourite thing but it does get rid of the snowballs in my paws.  I hope they get out soon.  I heard Pam mention they are running low on my mince?  They will have to walk and get some.  I need fed in this weather!  Actually finding it a bit chilly at night so I'm getting on the bed to snuggle up to P and E.  And they let me!!!!!!!!!

Not liking this.  The snow is over my tummy and that's just not on.  I've decided that the best way to deal with this is just to head home when I've had enough.  They can follow me.

As to the paw washing I'm finding the pawdicures rather nice.  The warm water and then a gentle towel massage. Very pleasurable.  I'll admit to being a bit concerned about the "running out of food" stories as well.  But I know that won't happen.  Pam and Ewen will make sure we are okay.  It has been cold at night but I have my new bed which seems to keep me cosy.  Big Boy has quite thin hair.  He's never got his coat back properly since he was ill last year.  My coat is, of course, fabulous.
