Magnus 25th March

Lots of nice flat walks so my leg is easier.  Can't cope with big hills.  Been getting 'eggy bread' for breakfast.  Really like it.  Pam says it'll help line my tummy against all these pills.  Still getting to sleep on the furry bed.  It was really cold last night and getting cuddled in was really comfy.  Don't know if Pam and Ewen were quite so comfortable but I'm sure they managed.

The 'eggy bread' for breakfast is a joy.  It's other name is French Toast, which I prefer.  I wonder if Luther gets it? I get the crusty bits because Magnus won't eat them???  Walked Leaderfoot the other day.  Met a mini-me.  She was gorgeous, of course.  Anyway, we had a lovely visit from our Cousin Kitty, from London.  She was lovely and very nice to us.  She can visit again.

Been sick rather a lot.  Pills.  Can't stomach them at all.  Bitch Face is happy.  Her French bloke has sent her pictures.

Luther has been in touch.  He's sent me pictures of himself on the beach.  I am so pleased.  xxxx

Magnus 18th March

Been snowing here.  Quite pleasant on the paws actually.  Pam has bought me a new light because she seems to have lost my old one?  Very careless.  Took Ewen for a long walk on Thursday and on Friday I was very stiff and sore in my back paw. Ewen's magic rub wasn't working so I went to the vet.  I either have arthritis or a tumour in my back, right leg.  Pam and Ewen decided not to have me X-rayed because I really do not like the anaesthetic.  I have pills.  And I get lovely things wrapped round the pills.  I am also allowed full access to the bed and the furry.  For a Wolfhound of 9 1/2 years I'm doing pretty well.

Poor chap, I can actually beat him up.  I was just trying to get him to play but I got a row from Pam about being too rough and about stealing his bunny.  I gave him a kiss to make up later.  He is my Big Pal.  I started to walk stiffly to see if I would get attention too.  Didn't work.  Pam threw a stick for me and I forgot what I was doing and went bounding after it. Humph.  Foiled.

Happy St Patrick's Day and lets give Domhnall, The Irish Guards Wolfie, retirement.  He's seven for goodness sake. He needs to put his paws up.

Ewen has been in hospital and I was very worried.  Pam brought him home again at tea time.  He was up all night feeling sore and I was up all night being sick.  Think I drank some dodgy water.  Or it could be getting over-excited by a gorgeous, young lady I met before tea.  At least I was allowed up on the bed, on the furry, since I'd been ill too.

That boy has the most sensitive stomach in the world.  Things are really bad if I'm sick.  Good to get Ewen home yesterday.  Both Magnus and Pam worry about him.  I just doze it off.  I have a feeling Magnus just ate too much.  He's been really stuffing his face recently.  Wish I could but I've got to stay trim.  Luther might be back soon.  As to Magnus flirting....He's nearly a hundred!!!!

Magnus 5th March

Been away at Roman Camp again.  In our special room, as always.  It was fantastic.  All helped by breakfast sausage and a bit of black pudding.  We went to see Jamie, Pam and Ewen's godson, his gorgeous girlfriend and his mum and dad.  They had their dog with them, Micky.

She's a lot younger than Bitch Face and me so far more energetic and able.  We went a walk round the Bracklin Falls and up to the Crags.  By the time I got back down my poor back legs weren't working properly.  I had to rest and eat a lot to get restored!!??

The next walk, along the railway line was a lot easier but the pub was shut at the other end.  Most upsetting.  Good to get home too.  Managed to take over Pam and Ewen's bed and the furry throw last night.  Slept like a puppy.

Mirren 5th March

I have to agree with him about this.  One, I adore Roman Camp, it's so dog friendly.

Two, the walk was harsh on my bag legs too.  It got to the point I thought "Enough" and headed back home.  All these straight up and down bits were hard enough on the way up but on the way down my poor back legs were struggling.  Then, of course, I do have a metal plate in my leg!  Anyway, I heard Pam moan about her knees too.  Three, Micky was extremely fit.  I think she must go to the gym a lot. Four, getting extra, nice food was a bonus.  Five, the railway walk was just perfect.

I don't know what Big Boy is moaning about.  There is more to socializing than going to the pub.  And last, but not least, I find it worrying that we can agree on so much.
