Mabel : I am very tired just now. Pam says I'm having a growth spurt. Morris is not that much bigger than me now. He still weighs more but that's because he likes food. I mean, I like food too but he will eat anything he can get in his mouth. He's much hairier than me but boys are usually hairier than girls. At least humans are. Not sure about us. Anyway, not much happening. Very windy here so need to be careful.....I'd rather been in bed, under the duvet!!
Morris : It's true, she is catching me up, but I'm still heavier and stronger than her so she's still mine in a play fight!! I have a terrible feeling she might be faster than me!!! Pam and ewen seem to have sorted out what I can and can't eat to keep my tummy happy. This week they organised a box of raw treats. Real food for us. Really tasty and crunchy. I really like them. They smell awful, according to Pam and Ewen, but taste really good.

HAPPY SIX MONTHS BIRTHDAY TO US!!

Mabel : We went away to a place called Roman Camp. It's in Callander. It was just brilliant. We got sauage and black pudding for breakfast. We went for long walks in the hills and along a path to Kilmahog. We posed in gardens at the hotel and I had my picture taken on my own. Two people got in the way but they were friends of Ewen and Pam so I suppose it was alright.
Morris: It was really lovely. It's a place Ewen and Pam went to a lot with Magnus and Mirren. We were even in their room. I got to spend a lot of time with Ewen. I scraped my knees a couple of times, running around, after my ball. The walks to the Bracklinn Falls were brilliant and I behaved impeccably. Can't say the same for Mabel who was in very "Look at me!" mode. Pam and Ewen were joined by some friends and Mabel ALWAYS had to get her nose in the picture. As I have said before, very attention seeking behaviour!.

Mabel : Not much happening. It's lovely out and we haven't needed our coats much. We've been some really long walks and have enjoyed those. Morris keeps showing off. He's started trying to sing. I've joined him a few times but I think we might need a bit of tutoring. Oh! And he fell in the water the other day. Tried to stop but couldn't just kept going into the River Tweed.
Morris : The Tweed thing was an accident. Did get a wee bit of a fright because the water was very deep and very cold. We've been this walk along the Leader twice. I LOVE IT. I get off the lead and there are so many smells and interesting things to investigate. Mabel just attacks me when she's off the lead. Very silly because she is missing so much. The singing thing just comes out of me. I hear a tone and I need to sing. I think the squeaky toy I'm getting my note off is not accurate. I really enjoy singing. Why should I stop? And Mabel can stop moaning. She's quick enough to join in.

Mabel : Well, it seems that's it over for another year. The big green tree and all the shiney things Morris liked, are gone. Pam had a big tidy up on the 4th.. It all looked very clean and empty. Schools are back but exams are on so Pam is at home. This means we get out in her car. It has windows we can stick our heads out off. I don't feel as queasy when I can get my head out the window. We get to see other dogs as we pass by. We went for a HUGE walk yesterday. It used to be favourite of our predecessors, Magnus and Mirren. It was very long but we had a picnic so that helped.
Morris : That was an AMAZING walk. I was off the lead most of the time. Ewen would let Mabel off the lead and she would run about and then stalk and jump on me. I got fed up of it. All I wanted to do was run about, be near Ewen, and sniff things. She was very attention seeking and I couldn't get on. Pam took charge of her and let Ewen and I get on with our things, like getting stones out of the water. Mabel wasn't happy but then she got lots of cuddles and biscuits from Pam, which was maybe her long term plan anyway. Enjoyed getting ny head out the window too. Very tired last night. Hope we do the walk again soon.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!

Mabel: We've had a really great festive season. I learned to open Christmas presents. We got an awful lot of gifts. Mostly food, some toys. Some of the treats we've had are fabulous and Pam says she'll order more. We've had long lie ins, big walks, been off the lead, met other dogs and generally been allowed to be puppies. We only wore our jumpers a few times because it's been quite warm. Morris kept getting into trouble becuase he kept stealing Christmas decorations. After getting toys as gifts, he really was being naughty. I didn't do anything like that.
Morris : It's been alot of fun the Festive season thing. Lots of things to eat. I did feel bad about the tree decorations but they were round and shiney and just looked brilliant. I've really enjoyed the whole "up the hill and off the lead" thing with "My Hero." Ewen is wonderful. He lets me run about and chase a ball. Mabel is useless at this because she misses the point of it all. I know that Ewen wants me to come back to him, with the ball. Mabel just runs about and ignores him. Can't decide if she's just slow or being irritating. Ewen says it's the latter, because she's a she.
