COLLAR INCIDENT

Mabel: Morris ate my collar!!!! He chewed it right through. Pam was not happy because it had been Mirren's. She's been able to fix it but now I'm getting a brand new one. It's colours look amazing and will really suit me. Every cloud has a silver lining. Apparently, Mirren was fond of this saying too. Other than that it's been the ususal. Sleep, eat, play, chase Morris, sleep, eat, play, chase Morris etc etc

Morris: We've been back to New Abbey. I love it there. I went swimming again. I am ignoring the collar thing. I can't help it. I like to chew things.

FASHION VICTIMS

Mabel : We've been busy and we need to sleep--a lot! I've got a new coat and collar. They belonged to my ancestor Mirren. She was a bit bigger than me round the middle. Pam says a lot of that was hair. I'm not sure the red colour suits me but the orange embroidered collar is lovely. I am very happy with that and it looks fabulous against my own hair. I went into water the other day. It's been raining heavily so there are new lakes in the fields. I don't mind them. They are not the sea. I don't trust the sea. I had to really stretch out when I got home. Think running fast through water uses muscles I've not used before.

Morris : I've got new stuff too. My collar was Magnus's. He must have been a huge dog because his collar is massive. My coat is brand new. It really keeps my bum warm. Pam and Ewen bought us ball chucker. You really have to run for the ball now. Her Ladyship went in the water. Bit of a surprise. I love the water and splashing about. I also like playing with the loo roll which apparently really irritates Pam and Ewen. I've had to squeeze myself onto a chair this week because Mabel has taken over the couch. I am a gent. I let her!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY

Mabel: I am a wee bit upset. I didn't get any Valentine's Day cards. Pam says not to worry I am too young yet. I thought I might get one from Hector. I really like Hector. He is a Yorkshire Terrier and a wee bit smaller than me but he is very commanding and knows what he thinks everyone else should do. We've had some great walks in the morning, with Ewen but he has something called Covid and isn't allowed out of the house. Morris : The walks along the Southern Upland Way, first light have been brilliant. A bit scary but I was brave because Ewen was there. It was very windy and we went to a very dark wood. When I got stolen I was scared but I don't have to be now. I have also got my own bed. Mabel still likes the pack bed but I like stretching out, on my own, in my own space. She'll grow up soon. The thing with Hestor is a bit ridiculous. He's the size of a good lunch but she gets right down on her tummy and crawls around after him. A bit demeaning if you ask me.

WE HAVE OUR FIRST VISIT TO THE BEACH!

Morris : I'm going first this time because I am so excited. The beach is AMAZING. I ran and played in the sea. I chased my ball over the sand and into the water. I had an absolute ball. Mabel was a total scaredy and wouldn't even put a claw in the water. She ran away from the waves and wouldn't even walk on the wet sand.

Mabel : I just don't want to get my paws wet. Or get lots of sand in my fur. I did meet a very nice Labrador chap. Gave him a very good run around. Morris is just fed up because I'm faster than him. I may be smaller but I'm lighter and faster and I can take down Mr Big any day. Pam says I really do remind her of Mirren. Must go now. I need a wee sleep.
