LOVE IS IN THE AIR.
Morris : I tried to keep it quiet but Ewen let it out of the bag. We went to the Kelso dog show last week. We were late getting there because Ewen was golfing in the morning. It was pouring and lots of people had gone home. But I saw her across a show ring. Her name is Angel and she is a champion 2year old Irish Wolfhound. It as love at first sight on my part. I just had to and give her a nuzzle. AND SHE LET ME! Utter joy. Off to bed now to dream. My Angel.
Mabel : Oh for goodness sake. You'ld think he'd grow out of that nonsense. He was smitten though. Went all dreamy eyed. She was a big girl. I personally had some romantic sniffing with a Belgian Water dog. Didn't get a pcture of him. He had to go be judged. Never mind. Next year...........

BEACH!
Morris : It has been a brilliant week. Terrible to say but Pam's been away so I've had her side of the bed. It's fabulous. I get to lie back to back with Ewen.
We've also been at the beach at Tinningham. Last time we went, we couldn't be off lead together because we attacked each other. This time we just played and ran and chased the ball and ran up sand dunes. There was no one else there but us. Total joy and freedom. Knackered when we got home.
Mabel : I missed her. She gives me cuddles. I get the bed all day time so I let him sleep beside Ewen at night. Tinningham was great. I could really stretch out. Ewen brought plenty water because you can't drink that sea stuff. Morris would try and keep and eye on me. He's such a big brother. I am really glad Pam is home. She let us try Waygu!!??

HOUNDS
Morris : Been an exciting week with huge responsibilities for me. Pam and Ewen were away at a wedding on Thursday and for the first time EVER they left us in the house, with people like Uncle Gavin and Lala coming in to let us out and feed us. I had to guard the house and look after Mabel. Then, on Sunday, we went to Hound and Terrier racing and I had to be strong, friendly and well behaved in front of all the other dog owners. There weren't a lot of dogs like us. Most were Bloodhounds or Fox/blood crosses. We woud have whipped them if we had been allowed to race.
Mabel: He actually dozed a lot of Thursday!! He may have kept an ear cocked for noise but he spent most of the day on the bed. Like I did. The hound racng was fun and we got LOTS of compliments. We behaved impeccably and made Pam and Ewen proud. I agree with Morris that we could have beaten the hounds hands down but they also had to do jumps. Pam and Ewen don't want us to jump. Apparently one of their dogs, Monty, could fly over walls, gates and fences. That was how he got lost on several occasions when chasing deer. You're not allowed to do that any more. Chase hares and deeers. They don't want us to do that so we don't jump over things.

JUNE!
Morris : Been a busy week. We've had hydrotherapy again. Oh my, I do love my massages. I could just fall asleep in the warm water with Katie massaging me...... actually, I do. After a big run with Ewen and then the session I slept for the next day!! Been to the beach at Musselburgh too. I love the seaside. Smells great and there are seagulls to chase. They get a bit swoopy when they see dogs like us.
Mabel : I'm still a bit tense about being in all that water but I have to agree the massages are amazing. Katie is a bit worried about my stiffness. She says it's in my transverse? Front left and back right. My spine twitches when she massages a certain bit. Must have helped though because I've not been stiff since. Not sure if it's been caused by my somersault or just my reckless speed. Ewen has found out there is a hound racing event a mile outside Lauder. We are getting to go. So excited. And Pam has discovered new biscuits called "Denzels". They are Sooooooo good.
