Magnus 22nd February

Been off line for a bit.  I have discovered I am lactose intolerant.  I am not allowed any cheese.  EVER.  If I have food with any lactose in it now, I am very sick.  And I fart.  And my tummy rumbles.  Not very happy about this but in the scheme of things, I suppose I have to get on with it.  Pam says my stomach must have been affected when I was ill, last year.  Moving on.....better weather, lighter mornings and evenings.  Longer walks with Ewen.  What more could a guy want.

Mirren 22nd February

I suffer because of that guy.  If he can't eat something, I get put on similar rations.  I'm sure I might get a bit of cheese slipped every now and again but I see the dream of ice cream going out the window!  Oh well, I suppose it's better for my waistline.  These long walks are great but I don't like it if it's muddy.  I can't have my paws getting dirty.  And goodness knows what the wet does to my claws.  Pam is trying to get my coat in shape.  Bless her, it'll take a while to get my dreadlocks sorted out.  On that note, I see her approaching with a brush!!! I'm off.

Magnus 1st February

Ewen is in Paris with some friends.  Fortunately, Pam let me Facetime him last night.  I've been okay.  Not been sick worrying about him.  Got to sleep on the bed last night.  Blowing a gale today but at least the snow has gone again.  Went a walk with Lexi and Murphy this morning.  That young chap certainly has a bounce in his step.  Boing, boing, boing everywhere.  I've forgotten what it is to be young and have that much energy.

Mirren 1st February

I was told that the shooting should have stopped.  Was most upset, on our walk, to hear bangs.  Pam assured me that it was builders dropping things at our local garage.  What a racket.  Got very scared and tried to run home. Murphy was very reassuring and tried to give me wee kisses to say it was alright.  And then they expected me to cross a stream?  Really?  I had no intention of getting my paws wet.  Then Pam fell over because she tried to get back to me and got her foot caught in the wire.  And! My hair is a mess because the wind is so bad.  Not been a great morning really.  Oh! Ewen is in Paris!

Magnus 24th January

The snow has gone.  It's been bucketing overnight.  I didn't want to go out in this weather.  Mirren was worse.  But, it's Ewen's birthday.  He's got his bus pass.  Bit worried about that  They might start getting the bus and leaving us at home.  I'm sure they won't but just to make sure Mirren and I bought Ewen some lovely presents with our Christmas money! On top of that, tomorrow is Burn's night.  I like haggis.  Pam has a gluten free one  Mmmmmmmmmm.

Mirren 24th January

I really don't want to go out if it's too cold or wet.  I like being warm in my bed.  All wrapped up.  Who really wants to go out when it's raining?  Magnus is panicking about the bus thing. I don't know why.  Pam and Ewen would never leave us behind.  They might go away for three or four hours but never more than that.  They know how hungry I get!  The presents we bought Ewen are really nice and useful.  We hope he likes them.  And yes, the whole haggis thing appeals to me too.  Doesn't need to be gluten free.  I'll eat anything................within reason.

Magnus 17th January

Well! It's really snowed now.  Pam is at home because the schools are closed.  Mirren is having a heart attack about cold paws and snow balls between her toes.  Ewen is away driving in this weather.  I'm trying to make use of Pam being at home because if I look sad and hopeful she gives me sausage!

Mirren 17th January

I'm really not happy about my paws.  They deserve better than lumps of snow between my toes.  I wonder if I moan enough they might buy me boots or wee shoes. A girl likes footwear.  Nothing too high.  I'm tall enough and I don't want to scare off Murphy or Harry.

Magnus 8th January

That's New Year over.  Had a lovely long walk and then had a nice day of relaxing.  Pam and Ewen didn't take us down to the hounds this year.  Our big change of pace came on Friday when Murphy came to stay.  What can I say?  The boy has a lot of energy.  He seems a nice chap though so I didn't get too angry when he stood on me or tried to eat my sausages.  Just gave him a very pointed "Whurumph" and he'd back off.  Mirren seemed to have good time.  She's not as fit as she used to be.  She had to keep snatching wee snoozes but she enjoyed the run around.  I think it's good for her ego to have such a young, handsome dog chase her about.  At least she didn't twerk him this visit.  That is so embarrassing at her age.  Really? Twerking.  Who thought that one up?

Mirren 8th January

It was just fabulous having Murphy to stay.  It's  so nice to have such a handsome young man around.  The fact he paid me attention was a bonus.  I even gave him my "Iron Dog" lamp so he could see when Ewen took us out for a walk.  I had a spare, of course.  A girl always needs to be prepared for eventualities. Anyway, lovely time.  I wasn't that tired.  I was just catching up on beauty sleep!  Pam has spoken to me about the twerking.  She says it is not appropriate behaviour for any lady and that I'm giving the wrong impression.  She says I should be enticing him with my brain.  Tried to be smart and offered up some sausage.  The fact that I offered up Magnus's didn't go down too well with the big guy.  I wasn't giving him mine though, was I?!

Magnus 30th December

Merry Christmas everyone.  Thought we'd better catch up with our blog before 2018!!  Well! It has been a great time.  Amazing food over Christmas.  Turkey, lamb and goose.  I liked goose but it didn't like me.  Made me a bit sick.  Pam said it was too rich and I probably couldn't digest it.  I had no problems with our presents.  We got a box of special ham and pate rolls and a box of festive sausages.  They seem to keep replenishing which makes me very happy.  We also have snow.  The weather has been very odd.  First it's -10C then it's nearly + 10C.  Then it's raining and then it's freezing.  But now we have snow and that makes me happy too.  There is nothing better than being out in the snow and then coming back to a cosy house.  The joys of wiping snowballs off our paws on to the carpet.  Rolling our snowy bodies on Pam and Ewen's bed.  Don't know why they get upset?

Mirren 30th December

I have to agree with Big Boy about having had a lovely time and about the food.  Fortunately for me, the goose didn't upset me so I got some extra.  We were also given lovely furry rugs for our beds.  They are really soft and very nice but they do get a bit warm.  I like to lie on mine while the snow melts off my paws and then roll it out off my way.  I do like my new bed.  Magnus will not get in it.  It is my space.  It is mine.  Sometimes I lie on his bed just to annoy him!  Went for a long walk with a lovely young chap the other day.  Murphy.  A black labradoodle pup.  Lovely curly hair.  He's a bit young I suppose, only 8 months old, but we had a lovely play.  I got a telling off from Pam because I twerked him a few times.  It didn't have the same effect on him as it did on Harry but he still seemed to have fun.  Happy days.

Magnus11th December

Been a tad busy here.  Decorations are up and Christmas shopping is done.  We decided not to give each other presents this year .(Mirren wasn't too happy!)  Instead we went away for a long weekend to Roman camp, in Callander.  It was fabulous.  I had sausages every morning AND I got to play in snow in Glen Coe.  We went a walk along one of my favourite places, Glen Etive.  The snow was brilliant.  I played and chased Ewen in the snow and posed for photographs.  I like snow now.  I wasn't so sure about it when I was a puppy.  It made my tummy and paws cold.  Our friends Shona and Douglas came too.  They gave us a Christmas present so things really looked up.

Mirren 11th December

I wasn't going in the snow.  I stayed on what seemed to be the road.  It was cold and slushy.  That was bad enough.  There was no way I was putting a paw in snow.  The walk was fine but I don't really like being too cold.  But then I'm a fireside kind of girl.  We had our tweed coats on.  Big Boy's was very loose and mine was a teeny weeny bit tight. The hotel was lovely.  We get a room called Dimity.  It's got a door into the gardens so it's very handy at three in the morning.  There's plenty of room in the sitting room for Magnus's and my beds.  I love the hotel.  The rooms, the food, the gardens down to the river.  Shona and Douglas gave us really cool toys so that made up for the no Christmas presents thing.  Think I'll steal Magnus's and claim it too!
