27th January Magnus.

Bit of a tummy upset yesterday.  Ewen forgot my Yumpro on Sunday,  Farted a lot.  Very bad.  Very, very bad,  Had a great walk though.  Saw the big guy, the Bull, again.  He's not very friendly.  I went over to talk to him and he just tried to stare me out.  You know what they say though, "The bigger they come and all that."

27th January Mirren

I slept on the couch, in the studio, last night.  Much safer for my delicate nostrils.   The weather has been quite spring like.  This is good as it means my paws don't get too muddy.  A girl doesn't like to get her paws dirty.  Actually, if the better weather is coming I'd better get my claws checked.  Don't want any split or peeling claws.  So not cool.  Must get my hair done too.

Tuesday 20th January Magnus

Mmmmmmm.  Not getting free range on the bed anymore.  Well, during the day it's okay but not at night.  Apparently my weight/push technique is too good and Pam and Ewen are not getting any room.  Personally, I don't see what the problem is.  They have this lovely furry throw ALL over the bed.  It takes me back to my puppyhood when I could snuggle up to my brothers and sisters.  Where are they now, I wonder??
Got a fright at breakfast today.  My bowl jumped at me.  Very scary.  Pam had to hold my dish for me. Phew.  Can't miss breakfast.  People don't warn you about jumping bowls.
Been splashing in the water with Ewen at Abbotsford.  Mirren wouldn't come in.  Too wet and cold for her.

Tuesday 20th January Mirren

Pam thinks I might be allergic to ham.  They've been giving me chicken instead.  Trust me.  I am not complaining and my itchy eye seems to be getting better.  Things are much happier now Big Boy is okay.  I would have missed him.  Who would I boss around and bite.  Pam and Ewen wouldn't let me away that kind of behaviour on a two-legs.
He can be an idiot though.  His food dish wasn't properly in it's holder and when he went to eat it fell in to the right place.  He jumped back and stood and looked at it as if a cat had got his food.  Pam just mothered him better.  This sort of thing happens when you are a breed that needs raised food dishes.  Bit surprised it put him off his food.  Nothing usually does that.
I do not get my paws wet.  He should know that by now.  We got to wear our tweed coats with the deer antler buttons.  Very smart.

Magnus January 12th

Weather is awful.  Keep getting wet and Ewen has forgotten to brush me.  Getting a bit dreadlocky.  Have discovered I can get extra food during the night.  If I fancy a 3am nibble I wake up Pam and then, when she thinks I want out, I bang my dish up and down.  She got the message really quickly.  Keeps the noise down.
Met a really big chap when we were out the other day.  Not very friendly.  I did try.
Bring on the snow.

Mirren January 12th

I am seriously upset.  Magnus is going to see Colin tomorrow and I am not allowed to go.  I have to stay at home with Pam.  He's getting more tests.  I hope everything is okay.  I would miss the Big Guy particularly since he's invented the Mid Night Feast tactic.  It is really quite something to watch.  I just look mournful...if he's getting something then so should I.  It's a great idea.
Also, find myself agreeing with him.  Not something I do often.  Absolutely, bring on the snow.
Can't get through to him that the big horse or dog he wanted to talk to was definitely NOT on speaking terms.
Mirren Tuesday 13th January

They are off to see Colin without me.  Having a HUGE huff.  Magnus and Ewen went off in the car.  Pam stayed with me and tried to be nice but...  I've missed Colin AGAIN.
Think my leg with the plate is sore.

Magnus Tuesday 13th January.

Whew!!  In spite of it being the 13th I am fine.  Apparently my limp is gone and no dog could run and jump like I do if I had a tumour.  No lumps or hot, sore bits.
The down side is I got brushed and had my bum wiped.  So did Mirren.  She was very unchuffed.  Getting her bum checked is unusual but I am SO happy she needed a wipe.
When I came home from the vet, Pam had pate and ham roulade awaiting the returning non-invalid.
Hurrah.  There is a silver lining to every cloud.

Magnus January 5th

Well here we are, in 2015.  Still here.  Have had a splendid day today.  Lots of running about and chasing stones in the river and sticks in the field.
Off the Tramadol just now.  Waiting to see what happens.  To be honest I'm more interested in what I can eat.  I am having a lot of treats just now, which is great in any dog's life.  The bed is VERY comfortable.  Mirren was on good form too.  Pam was walking with us so Mirren played tug with her and that left Ewen and I time to paddle and play with stones.  I do like playing with Ewen.

Mirren January 5th

The treats are having a rather nasty side effect on Magnus.  He is farting a lot more than usual.  He really is quite toxic.
Had a lovely time with Pam on our walks today.  I love it when she comes.  It's all girlies together and let the boys do boy their own thing.

She let me try a wine gum today.  Well, actually, I demanded to try one.  Quite nice.  Bit chewy.
Played tug, ran with sticks.  Feeling fit and as if I can run and run.  Good to be on four legs again.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY.  HOPE WE CAN SAY IT AGAIN IN 2016.
