Mirren 29th June

I have, once again, stressed out the owners.  On Thursday I felt the need for some salad and went off for a wee graze on some grass.  Unfortunately, one piece got stuck in my throat.  I tried really hard to cough it up and out.  Pam fed me chunks of bread and butter to see if we could shove it down my throat.  No.  Bits of chicken.  No.  Lots of water.  No.  My throat was getting sorer and I kept them awake Thursday and Friday night.  Pam called the vet on Friday.  The lovely Colin Lyons told us to wait until Monday and see if I could shift it myself.  He said that would be better than me coming in to the surgery because he knew how much I loved going to the vet!!  I didn't want that, look what happened last time I went to the vet.  But nothing seemed to work.  Then on Saturday I gave a really good "Hurumphh" and out it flew.  Pam measured it and stuck it on a cupboard.  10 inches of very needle like grass.  Felt so much better when it was out.  Ewen gave me a wee drop ice cream for my throat.  I know dogs are meant to be lactose intolerant but a bit every now and again!!??  Poor old Magnus was ill if he got dairy.  Poor Big Guy.  Anyway, we all slept like logs last night and I feel myself again.

Mirren 23rd June

Well!! It has been a very busy time for me.  First of all I went to the groomers.  Actually, I stayed in bed and my groomers game to me.  Fabulous.  A lovely brush and detangle from Ewen, in the comfort of my own bed.
Then Pam had her friends up on Friday.  The weather was okay and they made a lot of noise.  They had all made an effort and had put on make up (something that's gone out of the window since March), I thought I'd better try and look sartorially elegant so I borrowed Ewen's hat.  Magnus carried it off well.  Think I did too.

Now that lock down is easing a bit, Murphy came for a stay.  He likes coming to visit.  He hauls out old toys and gets very excited about Ewen.  I keep telling him to control the Two-Legs.  I laugh at them and even stick my tongue out and give them raspberries.  Murphy was quite shocked.  He does everything Lala tells him.  However, I did manage to con the poor boy.  I told him that burping in our owners' faces is a sign of affection.  He took that on board and when Lala came to pick him up he wrapped his paws round her neck and belched in her face.  I couldn't stop laughing.
On a more worrying note one of our friends, Roxy, has not been well.  She was quite stressed and ill on Saturday.  Thankfully she bounced back on Sunday and seems fine again.
Oh, and I found those hares again.  Only three this time but I really gave them something to worry about!!  Great run.  Slept the rest of the day!

Mirren 16th June

Just thought I'd let everyone know that this girl has still got it.  Metal plate, arthritis and 9 years 8 months old and I still gave those four young hares a run for their money.  Just felt good this morning, saw them and thought, "Why not?" So I did. 400 yards.  Glad my beds are comfy.

Mirren 15th June

I have new night bed covers.  One has Wolfhounds on it.  It will be like sleeping with Magnus again.
Other than that...had a bit of a gyppy tummy.  They think I had too much venison.  I am, of course, a bit hacked off about this.  I LOVE venison and have to let them know not to stop giving me it.  Maybe just not so much!!!
I mean, they have to give me gifts.  I worked this morning!! We went a walk at 6 am and looked for a lost golf ball.  Ewen lost it yesterday.  Just the one.  But we went up and down in very wet grass looking for a lost ball.  I just do not understand the male fascination with games involving balls.  Football, rugby, tennis, snooker, golf.  Balls!! Give me a good stick any day.

Mirren 8th June

Lovely morning.  Ewen's van is in the garage so I've not been able to go any where far for a walk.  This morning they put the seats down in Pam's car and we went to the golf course in that.  It has windows.  That open.  I got to stick my nose out and feel the wind in my hair.  Can't do that in van.  Fabulous.  We had a lovely walk and it was good to stretch my legs off the lead.  We had picnics and I gave Pam kisses and I could speak to Ewen, at eye level, when he stood in a bunker.  I was happy and smiled a lot.  Pam thinks I look like a sloth when I smile!!!! Not sure how I feel about that.

Mirren 5th June

Just to describe the vagaries of Scottish weather. On Monday we had 25C (35.5 in our suntrap back garden) to day it was 5C when I went for my early morning stroll.  Coat back on. 
Pam thinks I was a scrum half in a past life.  Personally, I think I am too slim, lithe and gorgeous to be scrum half but who knows about past lives.  Anyway, they bought me venison.  I do like a bit of venison.  In fact I like it a lot, so much so that I pushed Pam the whole way down the hall to the kitchen.  This is achieved by me sticking my head between her legs and propelling her, forcibly, in the direction I wanted.  She understood. Ahhhh! lightly cooked venison.  Scrumptious.

Mirren 1st June

Been absolutely fabulous weather here.......if you like that sort of thing.  Personally, I find it all a bit too hot.  I did venture out to the parents the other day, about 2pm-ish to remind them I needed fed. Other than that I am confining myself to early morning and late evening.  Lovely walks in the morning at 6am.  Walking a lot further than before.  I tried to tell them I could go further but they never picked up on it till recently.  So slow sometimes.  But kind.  They bought me black pudding at the weekend.  Haven't had that since our last visit to Roman Camp.  MMMMMMM!!  Lovely.  Anyway, warming up again so back to bed with a wet tea towel.  Bliss!!
