Magnus 29th August

We are IRON DOGS again.  It's dark in the morning when Ewen takes us out.  Pam has just fixed my lamp.  I love this time of year.  The lights give the rabbits a fright in the morning and Mirren gets to chase them.  She's fast but not fast enough.  On an important note, Ewen has started mixing some eggs in with my potatoes. Makes them nice and creamy.  We had a bit of a scare last weekend when I was sick.  Very sick.  Then Pam gave Ewen a row because he had let me lick his yoghurt and I'm not allowed lactose.  He remembered why!!!!  Pam was not happy.

Well you can see Pam's point.  Ewen gave him the yoghurt and then went off to work.  Pam had to deal with the aftermath.  Then we had to go back to the vet. I am sad.  I don't think Colin is in much.  He's now the orthopaedic surgeon guy so he's always busy.  The potatoes are very nice but I don't get access to them much.  They have decided that since there is nothing wrong with me, apart from a few extra pounds, I don't need extra food.  I'm trying to tell them I need to stock up for the winter but they are just not listening.  That's why I have to try and catch rabbits.

Magnus August 22nd

All quiet on the home front.  They are both at work.  Pam started back this morning.  It's funny, but I'm okay with them working.  It's just when Ewen doesn't come back at night, I panic.  My tummy seems to be getting better and I am eating a lot.  The parents are very impressed.  Mirren, of course, is fed up.  She hasn't got my dish to clean up now, because I am eating it all myself.

Actually, I am just keeping an eye on my diet.  I have been putting a bit on round the back end and I don't want it there much longer.  He is eating better though, which is good for us all,  We've not been near the beach or the river though.  Pam has a deep suspicion the water at these places set his tummy off.  And then it becomes such a drama!!!

Magnus 14th August

Not been well.  World fell out of my bottom.  Not nice.  I was very stressed.  Ewen went away golfing and left me behind.  I was really, REALLY upset.  Pam tried very hard and made me all my favourite things but to no avail.  She had to call the vet out on a Sunday.  I seem to have hurt my back and hips.  Vet said something about hydrotherapy.  I asked Mirren about this and she says if it's a therapy it must involve a spa.  She thinks it might have something to do with water.  I don't mind water as long as it doesn't go past my tummy.  Much happier since Ewen came home and now I feel much better.  Pam still looks a bit exhausted.

I kept out of the way.  He was awful.  Sick.  Diapoo LOTS.  Wouldn't eat.  Hurt his back squatting so much.  Vet lovely.  Helen Bradley from Galedin vets.  She came and sorted him out and then Ewen came home and the world was right again.  Personally, I think it is very attention seeking behaviour.  Like all women I just get on with things.  Or maybe he just panics in case Ewen leaves him behind.  I don't know.  Pam walks us, feeds us, cuddles us and it's her we go to if we're not well but he just pines for Ewen.  His hero.  Off to bed to rest. Stressed by the mention of hydrotherapy for me too.  Apart from a deep massage this girl is not going near a spa and getting wet is not an option.

Magnus 7th August

This wild boar thing is going well.  I received a parcel of new dog food this morning.  Its wild boar dog food.  Based on the diet of wolves.  Took me a few seconds to check it out.  I let Mirren try it first just in case it was dodgy.  She chomped down right away so I gave it a shot.  Splendid stuff.  Grain free.  Wild boar, chicken and berries? Who knew.  Anyway, I'll let you know how my stomach and the new food get along.  Pam says I have to introduce it slowly into my diet.  Personally, I could just stick my head in the bag.  Wolf of the Wilderness I salute you.

Mirren 7th August

Every time his stomach goes weird we get to try new food to try and settle it.  It's as if, after a year, his stomach goes off what he's been eating and has to move on.  I can't complain.  This stuff is rather tasty.  He wouldn't touch it till I had.  Came and watched me eat some and then went back through and asked Ewen if he could try it too.  Boy is not adventurous with food at all.  I, on the other hand, will give just give anything a go.  Common Riding is over.  The group Pam is in won first prize.  Ewen went dancing on Saturday and can hardly walk now.  Apparently, he thought he was 20 and at a rock festival.  Pam was impressed.
