COMMON RIDING 2026.

Morris : It's been a hectic week. All the horses and Cornets and fancy dress and visitors. Pam and Ewen's niece and her husband and family came for Common Riding. Apparently, everyone had a ball and the girls won a first in fancy dress. They also brought a wee dog with them called Basil. He spoke A LOT. Mabel just went to bed. Actually, as the week went on, I got to quite like him and we played when on a walk. He liked to lick my ears, which I quite liked. He also gave any visiting intruders, like rabbits, a better telling off than I did. Just as well he didn't meet Ozzie the Cockerel!!!

Mabel: It wasn't that I didn't like Basil, I had a sore paw and limping hurt my arthritis so I just relaxed. He was absolutely up for anything that wee dog. Chasing us, guarding the house, checking outside the car window etc. It all goes to show that little dogs can have mighty hearts like ours.
